Mrs. Lottie Lyon, 70, residing on the old Waynetown Road, northwest of Crawfordsville, died at her home early Wednesday morning. She had been in failing health for several years, but her death Wednesday morning was unexpected. Mrs. Lyon was born May 28, 1885, near Linden, the daughter of Daniel and Mary Jane Holliday Conrad. She was married Sept. 9, 1903, in Crawfordsville to Ora Lyon. Following their marriage they resided on a farm in the Cherry Grove neighborhood near Linden, where they started farming. They resided there until in 1950 when they moved to their present home on Rt. 4, Crawfordsville. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary in 1953. Survivors include her husband, Ora Lyon; seven sons, Raymond Lyon and Robert Lyon, both of Crawfordsville, Harold Lyon and Albert Lyon of Linden, William Lyon and Lawrence Lyon of Cherry Grove, and Delbert Lyon of Linnsburg; four daughters, Mrs. Harry Pickett and Mrs. Lawrence Harwood, both of Crawfordsville, Mrs. L. B. Taylor of Lafayette and Mrs. Donald Mikels of Indianapolis and two brothers, George A. Conrad of Crawfordsville and Leroy Conrad of Lafayette. An infant daughter, Emily Jane, and a sister, Mrs. Viola McNabb, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at the Bright Funeral Home in Crawfordsville at 2 p.m. Friday with Rev. Robert D. Braby, pastor of the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church as the officiating minister. Burial will be made in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Thursday.
